just for you

Less is More Challenge -  Week 173 We have a recipe! DIE CUT

A lovely challenge from the team at Less is More this week, which gave me the opportunity to make a shaped card, something I have been trying out a lot in the last couple of weeks. I used my first die to make the shaped card base. Keeping with white on white for a really simple look, I added a trellis frame to the front of my card.

My card now needed a splash of colour, so using my third and fourth dies, I cut out leaves and flowers. A sentiment was stamped and punched out to finish.

THANK YOU

Less is More Challenge -  Week 172 Theme FLOWERS

CAS.ology  Week 96: FLOWER

One of my favourite stamp sets at the moment is Flower Shop by Stampin' Up! and I've made my card by combining it with the matching punch. I really like how these three colours work together, and added some pearls for effect.

I embossed a double row of lines and stamped my sentiment in to the middle of it.

Lately whilst I have been making cards, I have tried to introduce some part of the image to the inside of my card to carry the theme through.

Just for You

Less is More Challenge -  Week 169 Sketch

I made my card base by running it through my Sizzix machine using the largest of my Circle Dies, just missing the top to make my hinge.

Keeping very much to the sketch I used two smaller dies to create a circular frame. This was decorated by shadow stamping with a selection of leaf stamps, and was mounted on to the card with 3D pads.

The flower was made using two flower punches, I cut in to the petals, and used my bone folder to burnish the edges so that they curled up slightly. A pearl was added to the centre to finish off.

Just a note to say ... ... happy birthday to you !

CAS.ology  NOTE

I knew straight away what I wanted to do for this weeks challenge, I dug out one of my Penny Black Stamps called "A Song For You". I wanted to keep the guitar very much centre stage, to fit in with the key word "note", so once I had stamped and coloured it in, I used Crystal Effects to highlight the guitar.

The base of the card was cut away using a scallop edgelits, and the matching embossing folder was also used. Some red card was attached to the front of the card to bring out the colour of the guitar.

A couple of music notes were added to finish the image.

On the inside of my card I added a light grey duplicate image with the rest of the sentiment.

For You

CAS(E) this Sketch:  #72

To start with, I glued some paper to my card base, to coordinate with the card, that I was using for my sentiment and butterfly.

I stamped my Just For You message nine times, and cut them out with one of my Circle Dies. I mounted them on 3D pads and then arranged on my card front to match the sketch.

I wanted to add a highlight to my card, so cut out my butterfly, then added pearls to its body, and then attached to my card front.

My sentiment letters have been cut out twice, and then glued together, to add a bit of dimension.

Birthday Greetings

Less is More Challenge -  ONE LAYER CARD - Shadow Stamping

I cut my card base in to a square, and scored a border around the edge to create a frame to work within. Using one of my Circle Dies, I cut out an aperture in the centre of my card, and I stamped my flower and leaves several times before re-inking

With the aid of my stamp-a-ma-jig, I positioned my Birthday Greetings in the centre of the aperture.

Happy Birthday - A Touch Of Turquoise

Less is More Challenge -  Colour Week 166 - A Touch Of Turquoise

How lucky was I when I saw the challenge at Less is More this morning. Yesterday I had been making a card for a friend, and this dress is a spare I made up using the left over bits and pieces, and it just happened to have a "touch of turquoise".

I glued a piece of matching turquoise card to the inside, and then used my scallop die to create a shaped edge that allowed the colour to show through.

Using my new Dress Up Framelits Die, I cut out the dress twice, once from patterned card, and the other from turquoise card, this was then cut to look like a cardigan. Mini pearls for buttons and the necklace were used to finish it off.

The sentiment was stamped on to a scrap of turquoise card and cut out with a punch.
