Birthday Card with Bookmark

CAS(E) this Sketch:  #68

This weeks challenge, gave me the opportunity to try something that I've been wanting to do, since I received my Scallop Tag Topper Punch, and that is to make a bookmark with it.

The layout of the sketch meant that I could make my bookmark and slide it behind my sentiment panel.

I cut a 5cm panel out of Crisp Cantaloupe card stock, and shaped it with my Scallop Tag Topper Punch. My Owl Punch has been used to decorate it. A piece of ribbon was threaded through the top and tied together with some brown embroidery thread.

My second banner was made by using a scrap of Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper. I wanted my sentiment banner to tie in with my bookmark, so used my Scalloped Tag Topper Punch on both ends of a scrap of Naturals Ivory card stock. I used my Woodland Branch die to cut a branch for my Owl to perch on.  Some 3D pads were used behind my Owl to raise him up, so that he could slide down to rest on his perch. A couple of brads were used on either side of my sentiment banner to hold it to the front of the card, leaving space for the bookmark to slide behind.

Happy Valentine's Day

Less is More Challenge -  RAINBOW

Addicted to CAS -  Challenge #31 LOVE

For this weeks challenge of "Rainbow" I decided to make a Valentines card.

I scored three rows of lines around my card to create a frame. Using some rainbow coloured card, I've hand cut some balloons. The bottom of the balloon uses the heart from my owl punch. They have been mounted on 3D pads.

My bear image has been stamped and then coloured with Promarkers.

Products used:

Congratulations - Owls

CAS(E) this Sketch:   #59

For my card, I've flipped the sketch. I punched out two Owls, and these have been mounted on to my die cut branch. For a bit of fun, I added googly eyes to my Owls.

The sentiment has been stamped directly under my branch, to fit in with the sketch.

Anglican Guild Christmas Craft Night

I had been asked by the local Anglican Guild to host a Craft night with one of my close friends. She was decorating cakes, and I was helping the ladies to make the above card. This is the first time that I have done a demonstration, and it took a lot of preparation, especially as my ladies ranged in age from late sixties to one lovely lady who is 92!!

I decided to approach the task by making a card that could have everything pre-stamped and cut out, so that all they had to do was assemble it. Although I have to say this was easier said than done.

Having cut out all my paper for the cards, I was left with a lot of off-cuts. I thought it might be a nice idea to decorate the table where I was displaying my hand made cards.

I decided to have a go at making some crackers using my envelope board. These were filled with chocolates, and the tag from the Christmas Collectibles stamp set was attached.

With other off-cuts I made up some sets of gift tags, and bags to hold chocolate coins. My Bird and Owl punches came in very handy!

It was a fun night, with all the ladies enjoying both activities. Strangely enough the Gift Tags and Reindeer bags were an after thought, but these proved very popular.
